Going Solo?
The Art of Masturbation.
Masturbation is probably the safest,
both physically and emotionally, sex that you can have. Yet,
many women and men and intimidated by learning and exploring their
bodies in a sexual way. There are many advantages to going solo
and they include:
1.) It is safer than sex with someone
else. The chances of getting a sexually transmitted disease is
almost completely eliminated with masturbation.
2.) A woman cannot get pregnant by
masturbation and a man cannot get a woman pregnant.
3.) It enhances your love life by
educating yourself on what feels good and what doesn't. This can
then be communicated to your sexual partner. Practice makes
perfect!
4.) Masturbation can relieve sexual
tension. We all function better by relieving tension. I
don't think anyone would call sex; stress, but like stress if we
eliminate it we are healthier and happier people. Masturbation
can also ward off infections in the male prostate.
5.) It just plain feels good and you
only have to think about yourself, it's OK to be selfish.
There have been many books written about
masturbation techniques for men and women, unfortunately we are all
made differently and some techniques may or may not work for you.
To keep things simple we encourage experimentation. You and only
you really knows what feels good, so why not try different positions
and techniques. It's really not that complex, just relax and
enjoy.
Try these four steps to prepare to go
SOLO!
1.) Decide where you plan to have fun.
This step doesn't have to take that long, you may be watching TV and
get in the mood. You don't have to go anywhere unless you want
too.
2.) If you plan to include sex toys make
sure they are clean and sterilized and you have a lubricant that is
safe and approved for sex toys.
3.) Center yourself and clear your mind
of all thoughts except for making yourself feel great.
4.) You can enjoy yourself for as long
or as short as you want too. It's all up to you and all you need
to worry about is you.
If you feel that you may masturbate too
often and it's interfering with your daily activities you may want to
visit the The National Council on
Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (NCSAC) for more information.
